Drowning prevention safety tips

When young children are around or in water, including swimming pools and bathtubs, the following precautions should be taken:

  • An adult should always watch young children closely without any distractions such as reading, talking on the phone, mowing the lawn, or other distracting activities.

  • Small children should be kept away from buckets containing liquid, such as 5-gallon industrial containers, which are an exceptionally great danger.
