TNF-α is produced by, but not limited to, T helper 1, 2, and 17 in breast tumor-draining lymph nodes
2022, Clinical ImmunologyE0771 and 4T1 murine breast cancer cells and interleukin 6 alter gene expression patterns but do not induce browning in cultured white adipocytes
2019, Biochemistry and Biophysics ReportsCitation Excerpt :Based on this information, we decided to explore whether IL6 would be capable of directly inducing WAT browning, regardless of its cell origin. As IL6 may come from a variety of cell types within the tumor microenvironment in vivo [50–52], we investigated whether our mature adipocytes in vitro have the necessary receptor machinery to ensure IL6-mediated signal transduction could occur. IL6 binds to either membrane-bound or soluble interleukin 6 receptor alpha (IL6RA, also referred to as CD126), and this IL6:IL6RA complex then associates with membrane-bound interleukin 6 signal transducer IL6ST (IL6ST, also referred to as GP130 or CD130) to induce signal transduction via the JAK/STAT3 pathway [53].
Quantification and phenotypic characterisation of peripheral IFN-γ producing leucocytes in chickens vaccinated against Newcastle disease
2017, Veterinary Immunology and ImmunopathologyCitation Excerpt :This is a well-known issue in mammalian research when using IFN-γ release assays. Several investigators have suggested that not only T cells produce IFN-γ following overnight stimulation with mitogen or antigen (Hagiwara et al., 1995; Vitale et al., 2000). Indeed, Desombere et al. (2004, 2005) reported that overnight stimulation of human PBMC led to IFN-γ produced majorly by NK cells whereas after 5-days of stimulation most IFN-γ producing cells were T lymphocytes.
Antithrombin III, but not C1 esterase inhibitor reduces inflammatory response in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated human monocytes in an ex-vivo whole blood setting
2014, CytokineCitation Excerpt :LPS is also able to bind to soluble CD14, which activates endothelial and smooth muscle cells and eventually leads to SIRS and sepsis. This activation causes the secretion of cytokines, eicosanoids, reactive oxygen species, and nitric oxide [4]. In addition to cytokine release, differentiated monocytes are responsible for phagocytosis, opsonization, and antigen presentation.

2013, CytokineCitation Excerpt :For this reason and the fact, that Opal et al. measured median endotoxin levels in patients with sepsis at 0.3 ng ml−1 [20], we used the ED50 of 0.2 ng ml−1 to optimally mimic endotoxemic conditions [30]. Further in vivo and in vitro [12,21,22] trials demonstrated congruent data to ours with a glutamine-induced reduction of inflammatory cytokines. In addition, in septic patients and patients in other stress situations such as postoperative period or pancreatitis, cytokine levels also decreased by parenteral or enteral administration of l-glutamine [23].
