  • Based on 2009 non-fire households and 886 fire households. Likelihood ratio χ2 437.8565 at 9 degrees of freedom (df) and Wald χ2 95.2658, both p<0.0001. The reference level is owner, single-family household, high school education or less and nonsmokers. The three variables under number in the household are quantitative. Education terms (college graduate, postgraduate and some college) are with reference to technical/vocational school, high school graduate, or less education, collapsed together as no college. Overall statistics on the education variable as follows: Wald χ2 23.8474 at 3 df, p<0.0001.
