Therefore, there were accidents and loss of lives and money from speeding every year. In 2016, with the cooperation of the Road Safety Network in Chiang Mai and the Safer Roads Foundation, automatic speed camera radar was introduced. This research: Objective – is to evaluate the efficiency of the automatic speed camera radar say. The study was divided into two parts: Part one is a direct impact study of the system by conducting a survey about the speed of the driver before and after the installation of the system. Then gather accident information on the road before and after the installation of the system. Part two is an indirect impact of the system by studying the psychological factors that affect the intention to express of speeding on mountainous area. Study results – Field data showed that the operation of the automatic speed camera radar resulted in the average speed of each vehicle. In addition, the proportion of speed violation rate decreased. In addition, the incidence of severe accidents decreased. The results of the study revealed that the perception of controlling the behavior of the driver influenced the intention of speed on mountainous area. And the intention is to reduce the speed after installing and operating the system. In conclusion, automatic speed radar system can help change the behavior of the drivers and decrease the impact of the accident on this route. Speed control with automatic speed camera detects the chance for the drivers to show their intentions and exceeding speed is difficult. However, driving behavior may respond to the system indifferently if there is no closely monitoring of the results and continuously no mandatory ongoing speed detection in the future.
