Introduction and objective Presently, traffic accident is a major problem in society. Although all sectors are aware of and focus on solving problems of road accidents, it still hasn’t met the objectives and goals set. This is due to adolescents’ driving habits. The adolescents have low capacity to assess traffic situations, but they often assess their driving skills in a high level. Therefore, there is a high risk of traffic accidents. The research aims to study factors and behaviors, driving attitude of students and college students affecting motorcycle accident risks.

The respondents answered 200 questionnaires, accounting for 100%. The tools used in the research were questionnaires about attitude and behavior, student’s driving behavior that affects the risk of motorcycle accidents. Independent variables were sex, age, and department subject. Dependent variables include factors, behaviors and attitudes that affect the risk of accident. Statistics used in data analysis include confidence and t-test was analyzed using SPSS for Windows program.

Study results Risk factors that affect students/college students Accidents in riding motorcycle most is driving exceed a speed limit (=4.87, S.D=0.12). The risk behaviors of motorcyclists found that driving while drinking (=4.94, S.D=0.22) was the highest cause of accident. The study of attitude of driving in motorcycles found that driving should not be rushed. Compassion to other drivers reminded the drivers to be more cautious (=4.92, S.D=0.04) with the best attitude.

Reviews and summary The results of the study showed that the driving attitude of the sample group was a significant factor affecting the risk behaviors of adolescents, which can be utilized in policy setting and planning, education, campaign and prevention of traffic accidents of teenagers. It is hoped that those involved in policy setting and accident reduction planning should have the awareness and prioritize the importance of fostering attitudes, habits, personality of a group of teenagers so they will be more aware of the danger of accidents.
