PL 05 The way forward

Abstract

Background The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) where countries have committed to in 2015 provide direction for them to move forward in the next decade. Around one third of the Sustainable Development Goals are related to violence and injury prevention. This shows the importance of violence and injury prevention to global and national movements. These goals required integrated actions across stakeholders. However, violence and injury in particular road traffic injury is leading cause of death.

The first four plenary sessions provide platforms share experiences as well as lessons learned from various stakeholders. Key messages from all sessions can be good inputs for further discussion on ways forward in particular achieving SDGs by 2030.
