Transport Canada recommendations: a forward-facing child safety seat is recommended for toddlers weighing from 10–18/22 kg (22–40/48 lb; approximately 1–4.5 years) depending on the seat model. For children weighing from 18/22–27 kg (40/48–60 lb; approximately 4.5–8 years) a booster seat is recommended. Larger children should sit in the rear seat and use a lap and shoulder belt restraint.
